Abstract

This research focuses on the rainwater resilience of the two most populated cities in the Netherlands: Amsterdam and Rotterdam. In preparation for the future, both cities have introduced ambitious initiatives to enhance their resilience to extreme weather events, including fostering the implementation of more Sustainable Drainage Systems. This research specifically considers the Amsterdam Rainproof program and the Water Sensitive Rotterdam movement, comparing them using the framework of Restemeyer et al., (2015).
