Abstract

This project analyses the effects of revitalisation projects in intergenerational neighbourhood on feelings of place attachment. As a case study, the revitalisation of the Wielewaalplein in the Oosterparkwijk was used. 12 in-depth interviews were carried out with students and elderly. The two groups were compared and outcomes were linked to relevent academic literature. Some results are that revitalisation projects influence feelings of place attachment in a positive way, especially among the elderly. Students were not so much affected, seeing as they were less attached in their neighbourhood in the first place.
