Abstract

The objective of this research is to describe and explain the differences in migration behaviour of graduates between the cities of Groningen, Rotterdam, Tilburg and Maastricht. The data in this thesis contains survey data collected by the Research Centre for Education and Labour market. Two different methods will be used to answer the research questions. First a description of the results will be made by making several cross tabs. For the explanatory part of the research, the multinomial logistic regression analysis will be used. The main conclusion for this research is that the Universities of Groningen, Tilburg and Maastricht show similarities in the migration behaviour of graduates. On the contrary, the University of Rotterdam shows a completely different migration pattern. The explanation could be that the University of Rotterdam is situated in the core region and therefore shows different migration patterns than the other universities.
