Abstract
This thesis aims to research the knowledge transfer structures in the Lock Program of Rijkswaterstaat. Knowledge transfer is difficult in the field of project management. This is mostly because of the nature of projects. Projects are often strictly defined in terms of time, scope and budget. In projects knowledge is produced at high pace but often cannot be transferred beyond the context of its application. A program might offer structures to facilitate this more strategic goal of knowledge transfer. The Lock Program has various structures in place to facilitate knowledge transfer. Knowledge still has difficulty to be transferred between projects, therefore it is recommended to invest more energy in the articulation of knowledge through more interactive and inclusive group meetings. This thesis has found that more interactive group meetings could facilitate knowledge transfer. Secondly it is recommended that after a project phase closes, lessons are immediately discussed and stored.
