Abstract

In the Regional Energy Strategy (RES) plans are made to increase the amounts of wind- and solar energy on land. These kinds of projects tend to generate a lot of resistance and therefore it is important to consider the concept of social acceptance early on in the decision-making process of the RES, instead of only when the projects resulting from the RES will be carried out. At the moment the focus seems to be on the latter and therefore a process-scheme is proposed to identify when and how social acceptance might be incorporated in the decision-making process of the RES.
