Abstract

The role and level of participation of three groups of actors, i.e. civil society groups, local government, and inhabitants of the two communities, in the field of solid-waste-management is described. The paper builds on an initial research on community participation, civil society and governance, carried out in Kumasi, Ghana, 2003.
