Abstract
This study investigates the effect that energy efficiency, expressed through EPC energy labels, has on the value of real estate, specifically; affordable housing. Furthermore, we investigate whether energy efficient renovations are profitable for (affordable) housing units that will be sold. Small premiums were found for energy efficiency, not enough to recoup the investment of renovations.
