Abstract

The conversion of agricultural land to no-agricultural uses in urban fringe area has been arguably the most widespread phenomenon in the world’s history. This research examines the level of intensity, the trend, and the factors causing agricultural land conversion in countries divided into three different groups based on the World Bank lassification; less developed, developing, and developed countries during 1961-2003.
