Abstract

Many potential tourism attractions can be found in Solok Regency, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia, that widely spread in every area within the regency. Unfortunately, due to financial problem and the limited capability of the local government as well, these attractions can not be optimally explored and managed. One of strategies that can answer these problems is through public private partnerships between local government and private parties. Some local governments in Indonesia have been implementing PPPs concept in tourism sector and some of them have shown the promising results. Therefore, the local government of Solok Regency wants to adopt this model and will be applied in three regions of tourism destinations in that regency. The aim of this paper is to identify the possibilty of implementation of PPPs in case study area and in the end, some proposed models of PPPs will be generated.
