Abstract

In the last decade, research has increasingly focused on the influence of the food environment on the dietary choice. Therefore, understanding whether certain socio-economic or demographic groups are disadvantaged in terms of their food envrionment could improve the general health of the population. Multiple regressions and graphical analyses with various measurements for food access are used to determine a relationship in the Netherlands. Generally, food access improves with higher percentages of elderly people or migrants. However, a lower average neighbourhood income is associated with worse supermarket access.
