Abstract
The PNPM-PISEW was known as a community based development program. It is well-known that the PNPM-PISEW program can reduce social inequality among the poor and the rich. The Mekar Sari Raya is one of the villages that get award from the government since this village succeeds in the implementation of the PNPM-PISEW program. Therefore, this research was conducted in order to know about the process of the diffusion of innovation of the PNPM-PISEW program in this community. As a result, I find that in the process of the diffusion of the PNPM-PISEW program in the Mekar Sari Raya village, the success has been marked by the increasing of the community self-independence. Moreover, I argue that this success is determined much by the willingness of the community to participate, the use of appropriate channels in communication and their homogeneity.
