Abstract
People spend an increasing amount of time on the road, meaning a higher potential interaction with the environmental surrounding of highways. At first sight these highway corridors only function as a safety barrier. However, these corridors appear to have a major effect on both stress levels and health conditions of the driver. Consquently, one might expect that policy makers take these effects into account when designing new highway projects, but the current use of CBA in the Netherlands often neglects the inclusion of highway corridor scenes. This master thesis aimed to value different highway corridor scenes to provide as input for future cost-benefit analysis. The results of this master thesis showed that the value is highly depending on the location and the potential views. On high population dense location, different landscape types represent a higher value than on more rural locations.
