Abstract

This research is about the influence of the attractive residential climate on Self-employment in Southwest-Frisia. The self-employment profiles are identified using a survey among self-employed. In the end, four self-employment profiles are identified; (i) average/passive self-employed, (ii) young entrepreneurial locals, (iii) footloose self-employed and (iv) necessity self-employed. All self-employment profiles have a distinct response to the attractive residential climate in Southwest-Frisia. In conclusion, an attractive residential climate is a positive asset a region can use in attracting self-employed.
