Abstract

In general, the concept of 'good governance' is not something new. It could be implemented in multiple context, either government or corporate. In the context of government, collective action by multiple actors is needed to maximize the outcomes of policy implementation. Indonesia formally has some policies regarding good governance for all sectors of public affairs. One of these sectors is transportation. To date, the Indonesian Government is still facing transportation issues, mainly in the Jakarta metropolitan region. This research explores good governance concept in the public transportation system in a metropolitan region. Finally, the research concludes that the existing public transportation system in the Jakarta metropolitan region is lack of harmony in commitment, coordination, and cooperation among actors involved. Therefore, by implementing the principles of good governance with collaborative governance, it is expected could help the Jakarta Government to improve public transportation system in the Jakarta metropolitan region.
