Abstract
The thesis is about the attitudes of adjacent neighbours towards social housing. A qualitative method was used for collection of the data. Coding was then used to find what the general attitudes were. This indicated that perception of "the poor" plays an important role in differing attitudes. Also, "messiness" in a neighbourhoods architecture as well as in terms of rubbish laying around was marked as important by many of the participants. Parks and greenspace tend to increase walkability of a neighbourhood, and thus create more exposure between neighbourhoods, which was lacking in many cases.
