Abstract
During the 1990s, the Dutch government embraced the ideal of mixed neighbourhoods as the solution for problems concerning integration, unemployment and antisocial behaviour. The move of wealthy homeowners to the neighbourhoods should lead to a positive effect on their environment. This thesis researches the results of this mixing in two neighbourhoods: Pendrecht in Rotterdam and Vinkhuizen in Groningen.
