Abstract
Early marriage is a common phenomenon in Bangladesh, legally unacceptable, but socially acceptable. Every 6 girls out of 10 are the victim of child marriage, more than one fifth of adolescent girls undergo their first birth before fifteen, nearly two thirds before eighteen and 80% by twenty years of age. Considering this reality the objective of this research is to investigate how and to what extent the utilization of pregnancy related services could be associated with age at first marriage. Secondary data from Bangladesh Demographic and Health Survey (BDHS), 2011 has been used. Every one year increase of age at first marriage increases the institutional delivery by 5.4% and PNC utilization by 4.1%. But it has no significant effect with ANC service utilization. Current age is positively associated with place of delivery and ANC service utilization but not with PNC.
