Green spaces could stimulate people to be physically active. This research explores the relation between the physical activity of people in Groningen and the provision of green spaces by the municipality of Groningen. This research points out that the provision of green spaces by the municipality does not completely meet the needs and wishes of the citizens of Groningen regarding green spaces for physical activity. At the short term interventions could be done to improve the accessibility with the use of smart routes and the subjective availability by creating awareness. On the long term the policy could be reconsidered for the different planning levels. To improve the influence of green spaces on the physical activity. date: 2016 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: EIP tutors_name: Zhang, Y. keywords_local: urban green space keywords_local: planning theory keywords_local: distance decay keywords_local: physical activity keywords_local: green spaces language_iso: nl titleorder: Green spaces for physical activity in Groningen – Do provision and needs correspond? dbi: 57ce764e11d0b imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/EIP/2016/edobbinga/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132454-57ce764e11d0b.xml date_issued: 2016-01-01 citation: Dobbinga, E.
