%X This thesis studies the contribution of infrastructure to Indonesian rural development. Based on the VIP case, while some shortcomings are witnessed, infrastructure contributes to the rural development in economic, social, and environmental aspects. Considering rural characteristics, some recommendations for rural infrastructure planning are the informed choice, the small-scale project, and the local-served facility.
