title: Role of Institution in Addressing Climate Induced Migration in Urban Governance

description: By the year 2025, about half of the population in Bangladesh will live in urban areas, out of which a significant number will be climate change induced displaced people. In such a backdrop, using content analysis and qualitative interviews the study explores if existing structure of urban governance of Bangladesh consider climate induced migration and its aftermath. The paper argues that institution influences the decision making approach and participation and thus affect the coverage of the issue of climate induced migration in the provision of the concerned organizations.  Having analyzed the contents of the relevant policies  the study demonstrates that there is no particular provision in these policy documents to address the livelihood generation of the climate induced migrants and also their voice also remain unheard for their very limited access and participation in urban governance.
