It is associated with feelings of nostalgia, a sense of security and an inseparable part of one’s own history. Children of military personnel who lived on, or nearby, later closed military bases in foreign countries, are often unable to return to their childhood homes. This thesis aims to broaden the knowledge on the place attachment of the childhood home and the perception of home of adult third culture kids, who are not able to return to the place they grew up in. The research focuses on children of military personnel, who lived in a Dutch community in Germany. date: 2015 date_type: published thesis_type: bachelor degree_programme: SGP tutors_name: Hoven, B. van keywords_local: Children's geography keywords_local: Homemaking keywords_local: Place attachment keywords_local: Third culture kids language_iso: nl titleorder: Place attachment and the perception of home of children of military personnel who grew up in a Dutch community in Germany dbi: 57c977299bb55 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ba/SGP/2015/nlmtheunissen/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132454-57c977299bb55.xml date_issued: 2015-01-01 citation: Theunissen, N.L.M.
