The data used for this research was a data set done by the Robert Koch institute (KiGGS data set), which is a health study of children and adolescents in Germany. Different regression models were used for different factors which could affect cognitive development. Controlling for socioeconomic status, sex and age. No strong relation was found between different sibling characteristics and cognitive development. One of the findings about siblings that was significant actually showed the opposite from what was expected. Having one older sibling showed an association with speaking your first words at a later age. There do was a strong relation found between sex and cognitive development.
