The data used for this research was a data set done by the Robert Koch institute (KiGGS data set), which is a health study of children and adolescents in Germany. Different regression models were used for different factors which could affect cognitive development. Controlling for socioeconomic status, sex and age. No strong relation was found between different sibling characteristics and cognitive development. One of the findings about siblings that was significant actually showed the opposite from what was expected. Having one older sibling showed an association with speaking your first words at a later age. There do was a strong relation found between sex and cognitive development. date: 2019 date_type: published thesis_type: bachelor degree_programme: SGP tutors_name: Vogt, T. keywords_local: Life course keywords_local: Siblings keywords_local: Cognitive development keywords_local: Socioeconomic status language_iso: en titleorder: Sibling's influence on the cognitive development of a child dbi: 5d42b8ab1b668 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ba/SGP/2019/aderouw/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132455-5d42b8ab1b668.xml date_issued: 2019-01-01 citation: Rouw, A. de (2019) Sibling's influence on the cognitive development of a child.
