Studies in Healthy Cities and UTC claim for a guiding framework which assists urban planners and designers in creating healthier and thermally comfortable landscapes. Perceived this fragmented literature, this research proposes an assessment tool as an analytical framework for directly informing practitioners about actions towards UTC and for helping them in developing UTC strategies. The tool approaches key dimensions and criteria for urban policies and design towards UTC. Validated in the context of the city of Groningen, the tool was refined over the methodology being considered by the local community of practice as a potential tool for promoting space use and urban quality. date: 2017 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: EIP tutors_name: Zuidema, C. tutors_name: Zoete, J. keywords_local: Urban design keywords_local: Analytical tool keywords_local: Microclimate variables keywords_local: Urban thermal comfort keywords_local: Healthy Cities keywords_local: Urban policies language_iso: en titleorder: Urban Thermal Comfort: An assessment tool for operationalizing urban thermal comfort in urban policies and urban design dbi: 59b280c093239 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/EIP/2017/mfpthaisa/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132455-59b280c093239.xml date_issued: 2017-01-01 description_company: Witteveen+Bos citation: Thaisa, M.F.P.
