The same time Poland is the most polluted country in Europe with regard to air quality. So it is likely that air pollution is a significant factor on mortality in Poland. This research is done through regional mortality differences, with multiple regression analyses. Looking at the results, no significant outcomes are found between air pollution and mortality. Only for smoking are significant outcomes found, neither for alcohol, overweight and income. So at the end can only be concluded that smoking is a significant factor on mortality. This means that only smoking could explain some of the regional mortality differences. This makes it likely that smoking disrupted the outcomes for the air pollution research, as it leads to the same diseases. date: 2018 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: POPST tutors_name: Vogt, T.C. tutors_name: Mulder, C.H. keywords_local: Transition in Eastern Europe keywords_local: Eastern Europe keywords_local: Poland keywords_local: air pollution keywords_local: mortality keywords_local: Polish health situation language_iso: en titleorder: Regional air pollution mortality in Poland dbi: 5bb5e24ddc331 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/PopSt/2018/cstiggelbout/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132455-5bb5e24ddc331.xml date_issued: 2018-01-01 citation: Stiggelbout, Cornelis (2018) Regional air pollution mortality in Poland.
