Urban areas are vulnerable to changes in climate due to their density and population size. This thesis scrutinizes urban adaptation strategies to cope with these predicted problems offering tools such as: a change in materials, vegetation, water and built form. Special emphasis is put on green roofs as an adaptive tool to retain stormwater, to isolate and to bring a solution to the urban heat island. date: 2014 date_type: published thesis_type: bachelor degree_programme: SGP tutors_name: Trell, E. keywords_local: Climate keywords_local: Roofs keywords_local: Green keywords_local: Adaptation keywords_local: Change language_iso: en titleorder: Adapting Cities to Climate Change; the implementation of green roof infrastrutures dbi: 55929d30135c4 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ba/SGP/2014/aknipping/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132454-55929d30135c4.xml date_issued: 2014-01-01 citation: Knipping, Abel (2014) Adapting Cities to Climate Change; the implementation of green roof infrastrutures.
