        abstract = {The speedy growth of Athens Muslim population over the last decade has posed a difficult task to the state in regard with the fulfillment of the needs of this religious group for official places of worship. Different governments through the country's history saw the establishment of official worship places as a ?problem? and they failed to recognize that the capital of the country has become a de facto multi-faith city. On the contrary, other European countries and especially United Kingdom, have included policies about places of worship in regard with social cohesion.By examining planning policies in London and their results in accordance with the lesson drawing theory, this research seeks to find if there are lessons that could be used in Athens context.}
