However, in suburbs there are less local sustainability initiatives compared to central cities and rural municipalities, despite the higher level of education and the greater financial capacity. All actors have to make a contribution to sustainable initiatives. Therefore, it is important to examine how municipalities could stimulate local sustainability initiatives among citizens of suburbs.
