The Char Development and Settlement Project (CDSP) aims to improve the lives of these families by protecting them from current and possible future climate hazards, connecting them to the mainland by investing in infrastructure and by enabling the communities to adapt to the always changing circumstances. This thesis aims to evaluate the efforts of CDSP, establishing whether investing in the area would result in maladaptation – making the community or other communities less resistant to climate hazards. date: 2016 date_type: published thesis_type: bachelor degree_programme: SGP tutors_name: Steen, P. van keywords_local: Coastal communities keywords_local: Climate Change keywords_local: Adaptation keywords_local: Sustainable development language_iso: en titleorder: Development of coastal chars in Bangladesh: Are the adaptation policies in coastal Bangladesh sustainable? dbi: 574c347d61a45 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ba/SGP/2016/sdegroot/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132454-574c347d61a45.xml date_issued: 2016-01-01 citation: Groot, S. de (2016) Development of coastal chars in Bangladesh: Are the adaptation policies in coastal Bangladesh sustainable?
