Greater Jakarta, one of megacities in Indonesia is experiencing heavy traffic jams and inequalities in the provision of public transport, creating a different level of job accessibility for workers to reach certain job location. This thesis manages to find out how those conditions could alter the commuting behavior and how it differs from the theory. Using multiple regression analysis, the results show that people mostly commute in proximity to their residential location; so it is not commuting to the central city anymore. Also, it is shown that the relationship between income and travel time is positive. This means that people with higher income tend to have higher travel time and on the contrary, people with lower income will have lower travel time. date: 2019 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: EG tutors_name: Barzin, S. keywords_local: Indonesia keywords_local: income keywords_local: urban keywords_local: commuting keywords_local: location theory language_iso: en titleorder: Commuting in the Greater Jakarta: Do residential household and socio-economic characteristic of workers alter their commuting behavior? dbi: 5d95bf1a04053 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/EG/2019/dalmaputri/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132455-5d95bf1a04053.xml date_issued: 2019-01-01 citation: Almaputri, Diva (2019) Commuting in the Greater Jakarta: Do residential household and socio-economic characteristic of workers alter their commuting behavior?
