There are many factors that affect utilization of maternal healthcare (MHC) services at individual and country level. In this study an emphasis has given to determine the levels of effects of the socio-economic and demographic covariates on uses of MHC services. In order to assess the effects of these factors, 7764 women who had given birth at least one child has taken from the 2011 Ethiopian DHS. The results showed that the rate of safe motherhood practices among reproductive age group were too low. About 51 percent of them did not use any health care services during pregnancy, childbirth, and post-delivery periods. As WHO recommend only 6.9 percent of women were attending ANC at least four times, assisted by health professional during delivery and received PNC. date: 2014 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: POPST tutors_name: Dr. Shrinivas Darak, keywords_local: Antenatal care, skilled delivery, postnatal care language_iso: en titleorder: Determinants of Utilization of Maternal Healthcare Services in Ethiopia dbi: 53fb1293b97a6 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/PopSt/2014/wnmelese/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132454-53fb1293b97a6.xml date_issued: 2014-01-01 description_company: Groningen University citation: Melese, Wondiber N.
