A questionnaire was conducted among international tourists in Utrecht to investigate how this can best be applied. Strategies to distribute tourism should both be aimed at the planning phase of the trip and during the stay at the destination. Personalized suggestion using ICTS should be offered. These include information provision in different languages and suggestions of destinations outside of busy hotspots. Moreover, ‘venturers’ will influence via social media other tourists to make the same trips as they have done. It is important to note that these conclusions are based on a small dataset. Therefore, further research has to be done using a larger dataset. date: 2018 date_type: published thesis_type: bachelor degree_programme: TP tutors_name: Boavida-Portugal, I. keywords_local: Overtourism keywords_local: Venturesomeness keywords_local: ICTs language_iso: en titleorder: Use of ICTs in Redirecting Travel Patterns of Tourists dbi: 5b588a4062125 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ba/TP/2018/llhielkema/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132455-5b588a4062125.xml date_issued: 2018-01-01 citation: Hielkema, L.L.
