The reason for this is that in the current situation drivers are not paying the full cost of their use. In the empirical findings hypotheses have been stated to research the implications of congestion pricing in Chicago. These hypotheses have been tested by conducting interviews with experts on the topic. Also, a quantitative data analysis has been executed in order to see which highways are the most congested in Chicago and where there is the most demand for congestion pricing. In the results it is shown that most congestion occurs on the Kennedy Expressway and the most demand for congestion is in the neighborhoods along the Edens Expressway. Despite these facts the congestion pricing project on the Stevenson Expressway has a good chance to succeed because of visible benefits and low costs. date: 2016 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: EG tutors_name: Steen, P.J.M. van keywords_local: Dynamic-based pricing scheme keywords_local: Facility-based scheme keywords_local: Cordon pricing keywords_local: Zonal pricing keywords_local: Congestion externality keywords_local: Congestion pricing keywords_local: Value of time keywords_local: Income segregation language_iso: en titleorder: implications of implementing congestion pricing in Chicago dbi: 587e36d0637f5 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/EG/2016/swester/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132454-587e36d0637f5.xml date_issued: 2016-01-01 citation: Wester, S.T.
