        abstract = {Both entrepreneurship and the relative advantages of specialization and diversity have been at the centre of research and discussion in recent years. It has been established that there are large differences in entrepreneurship between regions, often exceeding national differences (Andersson \& Koster, 2011). This is due to factors such as population characteristics, social and financial institutions, and a role-model effect.
The aim of this thesis is to establish whether there are differences not only at the regional level, but also at the sector level due to specialization and/or relatedness. This leads to the following research question: What are the effects of specialization at sector level on entrepreneurship in that sector and sectors with different levels of relatedness? Specialization here means that a sector is comparatively large in a city as compared to the relative size of its counterparts in other cities.
