relation: https://frw.studenttheses.ub.rug.nl/2363/ title: The need for family-housing in Dutch city centres creator: Gersonius, N. description: There is a lack of suitable and affordable family-housing in Dutch city centres, while more and more families seem to find the city an attractive place to live. This research contains an empirical analysis in order to find out to what extent urban-living families are willing to live in the city centre and if so, for what reasons. Furthermore, their corresponding housing preferences are analysed. Results show that only 37% of the urban-living families prefer to move to the city centre or districts nearby, because of the rush and sociability of the city, the proximity to schools, daily shops and work. On the contrary, 63% prefers to move to the suburbs, a village or a rural area, mainly because these areas are quiet. The logistic regression models reveals that the residential history is the strongest determinant in residential location choice. date: 2019 type: Thesis type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: en identifier: https://frw.studenttheses.ub.rug.nl/2363/1/MasterThesis_NGersonius.pdf identifier: Gersonius, N.
