The latter appears however to be difficult to achieve. In my theoretical framework I distinguish three key features that can affect flexibility and robustness throughout the planning life cycle: 1) change management, 2) project management; through planning documents and legal procedures etc. and 3) contracting; the involvement of contractors and the way in which a contract is designed. I have sought how limitations affect the planning life cycle and how flexibility can be increased. date: 2016 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: EIP tutors_name: Leendertse, W.L. tutors_name: Arts, E.J.M.M. tutors_name: Trell, E.M. keywords_local: planning lifecycle keywords_local: relational contracting keywords_local: robustness keywords_local: flexibility keywords_local: contracting keywords_local: infrastructure keywords_local: resilient infrastructure keywords_local: Complex Adaptive Systems language_iso: en titleorder: Increasing flexibility throughout a planning lifecycle; a focus on effects in contracts and tender phases dbi: 57cd3f9104a0d imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/EIP/2016/jrjwals/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132454-57cd3f9104a0d.xml date_issued: 2016-01-01 description_company: Witteveen+Bos Consulting engineers citation: Wals, J.R.J.
