The structures of both, the community and the ecosystems, are influenced by projects dealing with the development of new options for a sustainable land use management. This paper proclaims the use of a progressive method: the integrated assessment of the ecosystem service approach and the social impact assessment. This provides a combination of natural and social sciences. The developed model optimizes decision-making processes by improving the evaluation of the ecosystem services and leading to a better understanding of human well-being. Capturing the perceptions of local stakeholders and using the multiple trade-off analysis from other scenarios, ecosystem services are evaluated in a socio-economic and (socio-) ecological framework. Scientific and practical implications contribute to a multi-functional land management.} }
