Men have largely been neglected, especially in Zambia. However, the picture changed and focus shifted to men only after the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) held in Cairo in 1994. This study endeavoured to examine and understand the involvement of men during pregnancy and childbirth and its influence on pregnancy complications and neonatal deaths. It is uses secondary data from the 2007 Zambia DHS and applies logistic regression (binary and multinomial). A large percentage of men (82.5 percent) are not involved during pregnancy and childbirth in Zambia. Religion and women’s occupation determine men’s involvement. Even after adjusting for confounders, we still find no significant association between both pregnancy complications /neonatal deaths and adjusted men’s involvement. date: 2011 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: RS tutors_name: Haisma, .H.H keywords_local: Zambia keywords_local: Neonatal deaths keywords_local: Pregnancy complications keywords_local: Childbirth keywords_local: Pregnancy keywords_local: Men's involvement language_iso: en titleorder: Men's involvement during pregnancy and childbirth in Zambia dbi: 4d5e83f825207 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/RS/2011/echibwili/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132453-4d5e83f825207.xml date_issued: 2011-01-01 citation: Chibwile, Edward (2011) Men's involvement during pregnancy and childbirth in Zambia.
