        abstract = {This research talks about how civil society organizations focussed on women empowerment and gender equality can effectively contribute to Dutch policy. This has been done by interviewing 4 Dutch CSOs: ActionAid, WECF, WO=MEN and Women Inc.. Women's empowerment can happen by challenging gendered stereoptypes, lobbying for gender inclusive policy and CSOs advocating for women's rights. CSOs work most effectively when cooperating in networks or alliances on gender equality projects and lobby-work on Dutch level, and on European and United Nations level.}
