%X This research looks at ways of governing the energy transition from fossil fuels to renewables. While the risks of climate change are very much rooted in a global context, there is this postmodernist tendency to prefer decentralised planning approaches. It appears that a paradox is emerging which is about the increasing certainty of climate change and needs of making radical choices to avoid catastrophe vs. post-modernist planning approaches which embrace uncertainty and focus on incrementalism. So how effective are these post-modernist approaches for dealing with the global risks of climate change? Should'nt we make the more radical choices and are such choices even possible?
