Warehouse development before the year 2000 mostly affected subjective green spaces in Leeuwarden, Groningen and Beilen. More recent warehouse development affected nature reserves in Groningen, Hoogeveen, Roden, Meppel and Assen. A qualitative research has been done to find out how this affects the livability of residents who live nearby a regarding green space that has been affected. People in Leeuwarden, Groningen and Beilen have been interviewed. The results varied heavily and this seems to be affected by how visible the warehouse is from the green space. In Leeuwarden a relatively big impact on livability because the green space is surrounded by real estate developments. In Groningen and Beilen the warehouse is not visible from the park so the impact is less.
