First, the ‘Human Rights Sphere’, describe six steps through which a company can identify its human rights issues: (1) rights holders, (2) impacts, (3) relevant human rights, (4) its relationship towards the rights holders, (5) a justification for action, and (6) type of response. Second, the ‘Corporate Human Rights Integration Scheme’ (CHRIS) is an advice on how to integrate and embed human rights into corporate policies and standards. The ‘Human Rights Sphere’ provides a practical model for companies that they can apply to their own operations and in combination with CHRIS, corporate respect for human rights can be enhanced. date: 2013 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: RS tutors_name: Vanclay, Frank keywords_local: corporate governance, human rights, due diligence language_iso: en titleorder: Business and Human Rights: An Analysis on How Companies Can Integrate Human Rights into Their Business Operations dbi: 525519e8c4403 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/RS/2013/elvanderploeg/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132454-525519e8c4403.xml date_issued: 2013-01-01 description_company: Rijksuniversiteit Groningen citation: Ploeg, Emma Lidewij van der (2013) Business and Human Rights: An Analysis on How Companies Can Integrate Human Rights into Their Business Operations.
