For Indonesia context, it has to be considered to implement ecological compensation in more socially sound (socio-ecological compensation). The study takes US experience as lesson learned due to the longer experience in ecological compensation practice based on the six elements (ecological targeted-performance, government direction or policies, co-ordination, public participation, dispute resolution, and independent oversight).
