The characteristics, the extent and the patterns of the investments and relocations of the companies from the Netherlands and Japan have been studied. The major conclusions are that the investments have been concentrated in the neighbour countries (Netherlands) and the developed countries (Netherlands and Japan). The negative effects on the labour market are still insignificant. There are similarities between the Netherlands and Japan, but also differences which are caused by the specific cultures (of companies), histories and geographies date: 2006 date_type: published thesis_type: doctoral degree_programme: SGP tutors_name: Dijk, J. van keywords_local: internationale bedrijfsherlocatie keywords_local: outsourcing keywords_local: offshoring keywords_local: uitbesteden keywords_local: Nederland keywords_local: Japan language_iso: en titleorder: Bedrijfsverplaatsingen: Aard, omvang en patronen, een comparatieve studie tussen Nederland en Japan dbi: 4492cd178be2f imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/drs/SGP/EconomischeGeografie/2006/05082/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132452-4492cd178be2f.xml date_issued: 2006-01-01 citation: Shi, A.
