This paper researches through interviews with pedestrians and policy-makers the different needs, opportunities and abilities pedestrians have to walk around in the city of Groningen and more precisely within 3 neighbourhoods (Vinkhuizen, Helpman and Binnenstad). The data collected from the policy-makers allowed to study how the city of Groningen deals with pedestrians and the different methods used to promote this type of active mobility. The author concludes on the emerging concepts gathered from walkers experiences and on the need for the municipality to research further the experiences of pedestrians. date: 2019 date_type: published thesis_type: pre_master degree_programme: SP tutors_name: Bahrami, F. tutors_name: Niekerk, F. keywords_local: experiences keywords_local: pedestrian experiences keywords_local: pedestrian keywords_local: Groningen keywords_local: urban policies keywords_local: active mobility keywords_local: walking language_iso: en titleorder: Step Forward: The reciprocal affect of pedestrian experiences on urban policies dbi: 5ddd01a61bf93 imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/premasters/SocialePlanologie/2019/asaez/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132455-5ddd01a61bf93.xml date_issued: 2019-01-01 citation: Saez, Agathe (2019) A Step Forward: The reciprocal affect of pedestrian experiences on urban policies.
