Data on house transactions and ASCs over the last 25 years is analyzed using a two stage least squares method. The results show a clear and robust impact of ASCs on the housing market. Houses that are transacted within 1,000 meters of an active ASC experience a sale price discount of 10.3%, and have a 21.5% higher time on the market. Both effects diminish over distance. The results have strong implications for policy makers. date: 2018 date_type: published thesis_type: master degree_programme: VG tutors_name: Vlist, A. van der keywords_local: joint estimation keywords_local: externalities keywords_local: asylum seeker centers keywords_local: two stage least squares language_iso: en titleorder: Joint Effect of Asylum Seeker Centers on Sale Prices and Time on the Market in the Netherlands dbi: 5a86df95d6c8c imported_item: yes date_of_import: 2020-04-22 imported_from: http://scripties.frw.eldoc.ub.rug.nl/root/ma/VG/2018/muri/ import_source_file: theses-frw-20200422132455-5a86df95d6c8c.xml date_issued: 2018-01-01 description_company: Ortec Finance citation: Uri, M.
