Lennard description: Flood risk protection and its management is a broad task, which affects all societal levels. In this thesis a preliminary flash flood risk assessment based on local expert knowledge was applied. The goal was to obtain spatial knowledge for the mapping of flash flood risks and to make recommendations to improve flood risk management at a local scale. Flood risk here is understood as a combination of the factors flash flood hazard, vulnerability (with the components exposure and sensitivity) and adaptive capacities. By the means of made experiences and perceptions of local experts and by utilizing a spatial tool, risks as well as vulnerabilities were assessed and mapped. date: 2016 type: Thesis type: NonPeerReviewed format: text language: en identifier: https://frw.studenttheses.ub.rug.nl/2982/1/Master_Thesis_Final_Lennard_No_1.pdf identifier: Nolte, J.
