N2 - This research is concerned with the residential preference of the student community, which is researched during the coronavirus pandemic in the northern Dutch city of Groningen. The qualitative empirical method of semi-structured interviews is used to uncover the residential preference and underlying mechanisms, focussing on soft location factors. Findings indicate that the three most important factors influencing residential preference of the student community are the importance of social networks, a sense of belonging to a home, and variation within daily activities. The results inform policy makers and researchers alike, striving for creating a competitive and student-friendly city. UR - https://frw.studenttheses.ub.rug.nl/3409/ A1 - Diepeveen, Luuk I.
