Social media has been a driving force for citizens to participate in the domain of public safety for some years now. The effects of this development are studied by interviewing public and civic representatives of these projects. The results show that social media can make it easier for citizens to be active in the domain of public safety. The results also show that clear guidance and rules are needed to prevent that negative effects of social media use impact the results of these projects. date: 2021 pages: 62 thesis_type: master degree_programme: SP tutors_name: Trell-Zuidema, E.M. tutors_organization: Fac.
