Snip}, year = {2019}, url = {https://frw.studenttheses.ub.rug.nl/357/}, abstract = {A large scale survey was held in two newly built neighbourhoods in the Netherlands. People were asked about their most important reasons for living in their neighbourhood. The reasons were divided into social and physical reasons for place attachment. A binary logistic regression was used to predict the possibilities of mentioning a social or physical reason, based on the years of residence. No support was found for the suspected increase of social reasons and the suspected decrease of physical reasons. When people were asked to look back at the reasons for moving to the neighbourhood, social reasons and physical reasons were both mentioned significantly less than when they were asked about the current reasons for place attachment. This could indicate that there is a difference between the functions of social and physical aspects in place attachment, but that this effect was not visible in the current study and time} }
